A non-profit organization was looking to implement a SharePoint Intranet solution but didn’t know where to begin. SharePoint911 came in and planned out and deployed the SharePoint environment. Additionally, our consultants created numerous InfoPath form solutions and SharePoint Designer workflows. The electronic forms cut costs by eliminating supply costs and physical storage and maintenance and improved management of the information gathered by the forms using SharePoint versioning capabilities. The workflows streamlined and standardized business process as well as improving overall consistency and management.
SharePoint911 is no stranger when it comes to the field of education. One of the larger projects our consultants have worked on involved a SharePoint environment for Boulder Valley School District. The environment was an extranet solution that needed to have areas for each school in the district as well as accessible, but independent, views and information for teachers and staff, students, and external internet users. Not only did our consultants create a successful architecture and taxonomy for this client, but created several custom branding solutions that were integrated into the various areas of the environment providing an easily distinguishable look and feel for users as they navigated the sites within the SharePoint solution.
In addition to working with various school districts, SharePoint911 has extensive experience working with colleges and universities. These projects have included standard architecture and planning and development engagements, upgrading, all the way up to custom branding and development solutions.
SharePoint911 consultants deployed what was initially a very basic Intranet solution for a local contracting organization. As the project progressed and the organization’s business needs became clear, SharePoint911 was able to suggest, and later create using the out-of-the box SharePoint features, a highly sophisticated tracking solution for the client’s bidding and sales departments. The solution is able to track, from beginning to end, the bidding process on all the projects the client was involved with. Using metadata, this solution also populates, in real time, reports that display sales/quota information.
SharePoint provides users with several out-of-the-box options for Web page templates. However, a city government wanted something more specific for their needs. In addition to deploying their server environment and installation, SharePoint911 consultants built several custom master pages and a custom Web part layout, which is much more fitting for their organization.
As newer versions of SharePoint continue to be produced and organizations find themselves needing to upgrade, the need for resources to perform migrations increases. With numerous migration engagements under our belt, such as the 1300+ site migration from SPS 2003 to MOSS 2007 that our consultants performed for a government contractor, SharePoint911 experts are at the forefront of this transition.
Having one of the best SharePoint infrastructure minds in the business in Shane Young, SharePoint911’s abilities were put to the test when a client wanted to be able to store millions of image files (terabytes of information) in SharePoint, have them be searchable, and have minimal loss of performance. To start, the image files were extensively tagged with metadata and several custom search Web parts were developed to aide in search. With regards to indexing and performance, Shane Young and the SharePoint911 team were able to come up with the perfect balance of drastic hardware optimization and performance tuning to make this possible.
