One of the biggest changes from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010 was the implementation of the User Profile Service.  Although the new User Profile Service opened up a host of new ways for allowing user information to interact with SharePoint, it also created a whole new set of challenges for SharePoint administrators.  This session will explore the User Profile Service, how it works, how to set it up and maintain it, and what it can be used for.  With SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 1, there have been some changes (for the better) to the User Profile Service, which we will cover.  This session also includes a live configuration of setting up the User Profile Service on a SharePoint farm.
